The Art of Romance

In this presentation we will explore the Art of Romance. What defines love in art history? For Picasso, it meant keeping a bloodied glove worn by Dora Maar. For Frida Kahlo, it meant marrying your man, divorcing him and marrying him again. For Salvador Dali, it meant signing your paintings with the name of your wife. In honor of this “day of romance”, we will explore some of the most famous relationships in art history. Vincent Van Gogh once gave artists the following advice: “The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others”.
